Food Advent Calendars

We like our food and now just a normal Chocolate advent calendar where behind each window there is a small chocolate treat is not enough anymore. So in the last few years we have seen a huge selection of food advent calendars with so many options that it is possible to cover for everyone’s taste.

I am a tea lover so this Tea Advent Calendar by Teapigs ticks all the boxes. There are 23 different blends so every day that leads up to Christmas Eve you can discover a new flavour from the huge range of Teapigs products. Drinking tea for me is a ritual so it is a real treat to have a new hot drink while relaxing after a long day. www.teapigs.co.uk

Pop Corn is another of my weakness and with the great selection of gourmet popcorn around I love the idea to have a little snack very day. Popcorn Shed has made this Advent Calendar with its Vegan and Free From gluten and dairy popcorn. There are 6 different flavours like White Truffle Popcorn,  Smoky Maple or Sweet Toffee, all in the Mini Pop range. www.popcornshed.com

Bonne Maman is so recognisable with its glass jars and red checked lid. Its products are delicious and again this year the Advent Calendar featuring 24 exclusive flavours of marmalades and honey has nearly sold out. Amazon still has availability so be quick to check it there.  Among the amazing flavours Apricot with Bergamot, Apricot with Lavender, Cherry with Christmas Spice, Cherry with Elderflower, Fig with Cardamom, Honey, Lemon & Yuzu, Mandarin, Sweet Orange and Passion Fruit are the ones that caught my attention, especially the Apricot with Lavender. www.bonnemaman.co.uk

This is such a new idea for advent calendars and you can find it at Selfridges online so you can do your shopping tucked at home and waiting for the delivery.  The Selfridges Selection Mini Mince Pie advent calendar has got 25 mince pies from the Bakery with flavours like the classic ones, or citrus, almond and chocolate and also a Mini Meg Rivers mice pie on the 25th. www.selfridges.com

Obviously a chocolate advent calendar can’t be missing from this list so what is better than the Grand Advent Calendar by Hotel Chocolat?  The variety is spectacular and behind each window you will find double truffles, festive chocolate Slabs, a luxurious hot chocolate mix for a relaxing treat. There are also little bottles of cocoa-inspired festive tipples or Selector packs. Grab one before it goes. www.hotelchocolat.com

Cheese lovers are not left without their favourite advent calendar: the Ilchester Cheese at Asda. There 8 different cheeses hidden behind 24 windows and you can indulge with the Ilchester® Wensleydale Cheese and Gingerbread or the Ilchester® Wensleydale Cheese with Cranberries, both with seasonal flavours, or have a classic Ilchester® Cheddar Cheese. www.groceries.asda.com

Recreate the pub atmosphere at home with this delicious The Snaffling Pig Co. Porky & Nice Pork Crackling and Beer Advent Calendar. There are 12 pork crackling bags in 3 flavours and 12 330ml cans of exclusive Snaffling Pig beer. Can you resist opening all the windows before the 24th?  www.snafflingpig.co.uk

Hot chocolate is one of those drinks that you can have at any time of the day. No worries of being awake because you had a mug of steaming hot chocolate before going to bed. So the Whittard Hot Chocolate Advent Calendar is just what you need. There are 12 flavours snuggled inside a little drawer, and once you have emptied it all you can use the box as a jewellery holder where you can put one of your trinkets in each drawer. Some of the delicious flavours are: Sticky Toffee Pudding Flavour White Hot Chocolate, Mint Flavour Hot Chocolate, Strawberry Flavour White Hot Chocolate, Peanut Butter Flavour Hot Chocolate and I will stop at these. www.whittard.co.uk
